Maj Gen Rashmi Datta, VSM (Retd) is an alumnus of Indra Gandhi Medical College, Shimla and after completing her MBBS in 1983, was commissioned into AMC in Sep 1984.
Over the past three and a half decades, has actively participated in various Operations in the Army as well as the relief and rescue work during accidents and natural calamities (Bhuj earthquake in 2001, J&K earthquake in 2005 and Nepal earthquake in 2015). She was posted as faculty in AFMC for 5 years and the Professor and Head of Department of Anaesthesiology, at both Army Hospital (R & R) Delhi Cantt and Base Hosp, Delhi Cantt. She also represented AFMS in the Indo-Pacific Command HADR Ex “Cobra Gold” conducted in Bangkok in Feb 2017
As Comdt CH(WC) the hospital got the twin recognition of the best hospital in the Raksha Mantri Trophy and the Western Command Unit Citation during her tenure. She was instrumental in setting up the first quarantine camp for CoVid-19 at Manesar whose model was successfully replicated in all the three services.
